Dr. Tony Peters, DC

Dr. Tony Peters was born in Mexico City and migrated to New Orleans with his family as a child.  A skydiving accident in his twenties left his arm with constant numbness and pain for two years. Tired of self-medicating with pain relievers and alcohol, he took his father’s advice and went to a chiropractor. A few weeks of treatment brought much needed relief, Dr Peters continued to go on a maintenance program and began to free himself of daily asthma/allergy medication and monthly shots. After this life-changing experience with chiropractic care, he went on to earn his Interdisciplinary Bachelors Degree in Gerontology and Sociology from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida and a Doctor of Chiropractic Degree (four year degree) from Life University in Marietta, Georgia USA in 2000. He has maintained a successful practice in Charlotte since 2001.

“I love working with people that understand the concept of ‘health span’ versus ‘life span’.  Life isn’t just about how long you can live, but more about HOW you want to live and doing it.”

Dr Tony Peters’ passion for the healing physical arts has guided him to not only become proficient in chiropractic manual adjusting but to also become skilled in manual therapies that address muscle, fascial connective tissue, and soft tissue (Certified in Fascial Manipulation ITALY 2015). He has generous time studying the role of fascia as it relates to the daily problems faced in practice and its role in optimal human movement and performance (Certified in Chinese Acupuncture USA 2011). Dr. Tony enjoys time with family and friends, and also enjoys short, long course, and endurance paddleboard racing, being outdoors, live music, good food, reading research about bodywork (closet nerd), and anything anatomy related.

“I see myself more of a bodyworker(A connective tissue teChnician if you will) that also happens to be a Chiropractor. I’m a manual therapist at heart, and a Doctor of Chiropractic by training. This allows me to address problEms with the nervous systeM thRough the JOints, muscles and connective tissue.”
